Our President for 2024, John Gouldson, took a group of our members earlier this month, on tour to Norfolk visiting Stalham BC, Victoria BC and West Winch BC all of which were only a short coach or car journey from Sprowston Manor Hotel on the outskirts of Norwich.
The Saturday and Sunday matches were played to EBF rules instead of EBA, as required by these clubs which was somewhat of a novelty for our members. Members reported that the hotel was excellent and all players enjoyed playing against the friendly Norfolk clubs .
The Sunday evening dinner was followed as usual by the collection of fines from members who made some misdemeanour during the year. The Judge (John Gouldson) red out the name of the member and apportioned a just fine. The Court Clerk (Rob Kuch) collected the fines. Those who argued and protested their innocence had to pay a surcharge on top of the original fine as it was ruled as contempt of court by the Judge. A total of £240 in fines was collected for the President’s Firefighters Charity

The 2025 Tour to Worcester is already in planning by the current Vice President. Members are already signing up for the tour which will include a visit to Royal Leamington Spar, the home of Bowls England
